Water Treatment Improvements

Water Treatment Improvements

GRAFTON, IOWA

WHKS conducted an evaluation of the City’s municipal drinking water system to address concerns identified by the City, specifically with the existing water sources (Wells No. 1 and 2) and water treatment equipment. The evaluation was used to investigate and leverage funding for construction of the improvements.

The evaluation indicated that the source of the water provided by Wells No. 1 and 2 were adequate in both quality and quantity. Based on the condition of the existing treatment equipment and access limitations of the treatment building, the City opted to replace the equipment and to expand the building into an existing attached garage area.

WHKS provided design and construction phase engineering services for the project and the City’s water system is now meeting current drinking water standards.
