WHKS prepared final plans and specifications and performed construction services for improvements to the City’s water treatment facility.
The improvements included construction of a new water treatment building, replacement of the existing pressure filters, high service pumps, chemical feed, electrical, and control equipment, and installation of piping to connect the new treatment equipment to the existing water system. In addition, WHKS made modifications to Well #1 to rehabilitate the well and install a pitless adapter unit.
WHKS assisted the City with applying for funding sources through the Iowa Finance Authority, specifically the State Revolving Fund Loan and the Planning and Design Loan programs. WHKS provided technical assistance to the City that obtained $300,000 in funding through the Community Development Block Grant program.
