IL 61 Over the LaMoine River
MCDONOUGH COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHKS provided Phase 1 and Phase 2 services for the removal and replacement of the bridge carrying Illinois Route 61 over the LaMoine River in McDonough County. The existing bridge was replaced with a 478 foot, 5-span precast prestressed concrete I-beam bridge.
IMPROVING LIVES, BUILDING COMMUNITIES
Approximately 1,500 feet of the roadway was removed and reconstructed due to a 5′ grade raise at the bridge and approximately 275′ of the roadway was widened and resurfaced. The new bridge was built in stages to allow the roadway to remain open to traffic during construction.
