CDBG Water Main Improvements

SHEFFIELD, IOWA

The City of Sheffield received funding to upgrade several segments of the City’s aging water distribution infrastructure.

WHKS designed and prepared plans and specifications for replacing the existing water main and related service lines as well as reconstructing existing roadways and driveways on the following streets in Sheffield:

  • 1st Street, from 255th Street to Borst Street (south of Sherman Street was designed but not constructed)
  • 3rd Street, from Borst Street to Thompson Street
  • 4th Street, from Park Street to Gilman Street
  • 6th Street, from Borst Street to Thompson Street and from Sherman Street to Maple Street
  • Borst Street, from 1st Street to 4th Street (7th Street to Lincoln Street was designed, but not constructed)
  • Thompson Street, from 2nd Street to Lincoln Street
  • Gilman Street, from Lincoln Street to Cleveland Street (designed but not constructed)

The project also reconstructed the existing bituminous pavement and installed new storm sewer piping along Borst Street, from 1st Street to 4th Street.
