WHKS provided civil design services for an expansion of the Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge (MNTC) campus which included a new 80-bed facility for the women’s faith-based drug treatment and recovery program.

The 30,000 square-foot building is located on a three-acre parcel that expanded the existing 12 acre campus. The building includes a new 74-bed facility with 3,800 square feet of partial basements and mezzanines for storm shelters, storage and mechanical. A 100-seat chapel, dining room with a catered kitchen, fitness and art rooms, and administrative and counseling staff offices were also designed.

The design included extensive storm water modeling due to grading requirement shifting natural drainage patterns. The site design also included extensive water quality modeling and associated BMP design to meet the City’s MS4 requirements. WHKS also prepared a hydrology report and stormwater management plan.

The expansion included grading, drainage, storm water facilities, and sanitary sewer and water main improvements.
