Dry Run Creek Improvements

Dry Run Creek Improvements

WAVERLY, IOWA

WHKS was retained by the City of Waverly, Iowa for preparation of a Phase 1 report to mitigate the Dry Run Creek watershed from a flood risk and make the Dry Run Creek corridor appealing for redevelopment and reutilization.

WHKS prepared a Channel Alignment Study to aid the City in moving forward with the planning and construction of the project. The components of the project included the review of existing hydraulics and hydrology, determination of the location of a ten (10) foot paved maintenance access along the selected channel alignment, and development of preliminary structure layouts for seven (7) locations, identifying the channel type, size, and location.

WHKS coordinated the proposed improvements with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
