Baumann Road over I-70 Bridge Deck Replacement
BOND AND MADISON COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
During a deck scarification and overlay project, the existing deck on Baumann Road over I-70 failed. WHKS conducted a bridge inspection and prepared Type, Size, and Location plans for the Illinois DOT for the deck replacement of the existing four-span bridge.

Since the project was in the construction phase, WHKS reacted quickly to design the deck replacement on an accelerated design schedule, with the improvements completed within an aggressive 3-month timeframe, preventing further schedule delays and impacts to the traveling public.
