Survey Technician – Rochester, Minnesota
WHKS is looking for a detailed and technically oriented individual who is passionate about contributing fresh perspectives and creative ideas. As a survey technician, you will collaborate with other surveying and engineering professionals on various survey work throughout the state of Minnesota. This is a full time position with benefits and may include some overnight travel.

Responsibilities Include:
- Perform boundary and topographic surveys, platting, and construction staking for various private and public projects.
- Perform project staking and layout.
- Complete survey computations.
- Verify field dimensions and elevations to project plans.
- Operate survey equipment utilizing GPS, Total Station, and leveling instruments.
- Perform other survey-related duties primarily in the field.
Qualifications:
Required
- 0 – 5+ years of field survey and GPS experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated math skills.
- Excellent computer and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be able to manage workload independently.
- Ability to:
- Perform physical tasks that may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Remain in a stationary position and/or move about the work site, including standing, walking, bending, and climbing, for extended periods.
- Work in varying outdoor weather conditions or environments.Preferred
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Trimble equipment and software.
